Tenorio's door is the closest hostel to the Costa Rican Volcan Tenorio National Park, which is known for the beautiful Rio Celeste, whose light blue waters are caused by the emanation of sulfur and the precipitation of calcium carbonates.

Primary cloud forest and rainforest covers the park, which abounds with flora and fauna species in multiple life

zones, innumerable rivers, waterfalls, thermal hot springs, and Laguna La Danta (Tapir Lake).


The entrance of this world of natural beauty is accessible to you just 8 minutes walk away from our hostal, which offers 4 small cabins, surrounded with beautiful nature and a calmed environment. Marielos, its owner, is a local entrepreneur woman, who will make sure you have a pleasant stay at her hostel. (pictures of the waterfall and river are from the National Park).

Price per person per night is 15.000 colones (aprox. US$28), and includes breakfast and dinner. And 17.000 colones (aprox. US$30) for individual travelers.

Driving directions:
From San Jose, take the main highway to Ciudad Quesada (aka San Carlos), then to Upala. Turn left in Upala towards Bijagua, and follow the road approximately 30 miles to the entrance of the Park (our hotel is half mile before the Park).

If you need transportation, there are taxis available in Bijagua (US$30 per trip)
